WELCOME TO
e-Local Marketplace
Formerly known as Evanston Local Marketplace
an Illinois 501(c) (3) non profit
ECONOMIC IMPACT
Stimulate neighborhood economics by supporting local businesses in the community. Money flowing in and out of neighborhoods without circulating (multiplying) does little for the morale, aesthetic, availability of jobs and ultimate quality of life for community residents.
The 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, e-Local Marketplace (ELM), powered by elink Gateway, offers a genuine and viable solution to stimulate local B2B and large institutional spending. ELM/elink Gateway removes the array of barriers small and midsize businesses encounter with procurement opportunities. From their 'go live' date, ELM Sellers are positioned for increased profitability without agonizing over financial, technical and certification requirements typically associated with opportunities of this magnitude.
A 2021 study on the racial wealth gap calculated that a dollar circulates six hours in the Black community, 20 days in the Jewish community and 30 days in the Asian community. (Black Star Project) The local multiplier effect ("local premium") is the additional economic benefit accrued to an area from money being spent in the local economy (Wikipedia) Through e-Local Marketplace the local multiplier effect is made feasible and visible. ELM is a win-win for buyers, sellers, and community residents.
